The Story Behind The Educated Pelvis

I’m Dr. Sam (pronouns she/her/hers), a pelvic floor therapist for adults and kids in Columbus, Ohio. My journey started with an internship in Australia, where I first fell in love with this profession—and grew even deeper during my graduate studies at Boston University, where I found my passion for pelvic health.

My husband’s professional soccer career led us on an adventure to Europe, where I gave birth to our kids in Copenhagen, Denmark, within a supportive universal healthcare system and options for in-home care. After pregnancies and births, I know how challenging emotional and physical tolls can feel on a body. And I can also attest to how wonderful it is to live life healed, empowered and stronger, which is why I’ve dedicated my career to helping others find the same relief and confidence.

Since graduating with my doctoral degree, I have completed over 100 hours of additional pelvic health education classes and labs to hone my skills. I truly believe that everyone should have access to pelvic health education and treatments. Seeing a pelvic health provider (with an option for in-home visits) should be part of the standard of care in the U.S., as it is in many other parts of the world, during childhood, before your first gynecologist visit, during pregnancy and postpartum, before and after all abdominal/pelvic surgeries, along the transformations of perimenopause and into your post menopause era.

I look forward to working with you and hearing more about your story, too.

Work with Dr. Sam

I do this work because everyone deserves support, education, and care that truly meets them where they are. When I gave birth in Copenhagen, I saw how powerful it can be to feel safe and supported at home. That experience inspires how I practice today—helping clients understand their bodies, find relief, and feel confident in their wellbeing.

One thing I love…

Cuddling up with a candle burning, wrapped in a cozy blanket with a great book in my hands.

One way I regulate…

My nervous system is with restorative yoga & meditation. I also take long walks with my best friend to connect and soak up nature.

One thing I support…

A local non-profit, Let the Light In, as their Resale Fundraiser Coordinator so that they can continue to care for our community free of charge.

On a mission to normalize pelvic health

I believe all folks deserve empathetic, inclusive pelvic health care—meeting you where you are, walking alongside you, and providing the knowledge, treatments, and support you need to reach your goals.

    Postpartum Pelvic Health Care

To support you and encourage the healing process, I offer an assessment 2-3 weeks post birth in the comfort of your home. At 6-8 weeks, I recommend a full body evaluation that will help determine the best plan to support you in your next chapter.
